Join Micaela Connery in 'Rethinking Disability Housing'.
The United States spends over $77.3 billion to educate children with disabilities. We provide high levels of care to children and students with disability, but when those children become adults services fall short and inclusion is almost non-existent. This issue is particularly challenging in the area of housing for adults with disabilities. Micaela has found failings in three key areas of housing for people with disabilities: funding, impact, and operations. Micaela is working on a model to redesign disability housing through partnership, inclusion, and scale.
The session will include a 30 minute focus group, followed by 20 minutes of Micaela's research on the issue, and 40 minutes discussion and Q&A.
